Board Of Directors

Entegra's Board of Directors is elected by the membership, and they represent the membership in the governance and strategic direction for the credit union. Here's a look at the Directors who currently make up the Board of Entegra Credit Union.

Chair - Don Johal

Don was elected as Board Chair in September, 2020 and has been a Board Member since 2017.

Born in Kamloops, British Columbia, Don moved to Manitoba at an early age. He studied economics and project management in Winnipeg and proceeded to work in the highly competitive business of vehicle rentals. Passionate about automobiles, commerce, and people, it was a genuine fit. With support from the business community, family, and friends he moved into the Licensee/Franchisee environment with Budget Car and Truck Rental.

Don has been the President of the Manitoba Car and Truck Rental Association for the past 7 years and a member of Entegra for the past 5 years. In addition to his business endeavours he has been a member of several charitable organizations resulting in donations of tens of thousands to Cancer Care Manitoba among others.

Vice-Chair - Diane Lee Sousa CPA, CMA

Diane was elected as Vice-Chair in September, 2020 and has been a Board Member since 2012.

As a Founding Partner of Prophet Business Group, Diane has over 22 years of experience assisting businesses increase their productivity through implementing intelligent and efficient technological solutions. As a business owner Diane was involved in all facets of the organization, giving her exceptional perspective into several challenges facing Manitoba businesses: competitiveness, profitability, and continued growth; skills Diane brings forward to Entegra’s Board.

Diane has since sold Prophet and is currently working for Exchange Income Corporation in their Shared Services Division assisting with special projects relating to Information Technology.

Diane is a graduate of the University of Manitoba, B.Comm.(Hons.), has obtained her CPA, CMA and currently sits on the Advisory Committee for CPA Canada in technology.

Diane and her husband Joe have two children.

Secretary - Ed Kolodziej

Ed was elected by the membership to the Board in 1997.

Ed is an Accredited Assessor employed by the Province of Manitoba. Ed’s current role is as the District Supervisor for the Selkirk and Steinbach Property Assessment offices. Ed is responsible for the managing and maintaining of the assessment roll for 39 client municipalities valuing 142,000 property rolls each year. With almost 20 years of assessment experience, Ed has inspected nearly 10,000 properties, gaining an extensive knowledge of the real estate market, and has appeared as an expert witness before many Board of Revision and Municipal Board hearings. Ed has also appeared before many Municipal councils to present Tax Impact Reports.

Ed has a passion for middle distance running and participates in a number of races throughout the year.

Ed and his wife Sofia have three children.

Director - Ed Plezia

Ed was elected to the Board in 1992 and served as President from April, 2003 to April, 2017.

Ed is currently semi-retired, after building Plezia Insurance from the ground up into the successful insurance brokerage it is today. Early on in Ed's career he worked for Credit Union Insurance Services as an Account Manager, where he managed the insurance needs of many Manitoba Credit Unions.

Ed and his wife Louise have three children and two grandchildren.

Director - Sanjiv Garg

Sanjiv was elected to the Board in 2017.

As the true definition of an entrepreneur, Sanjiv possesses years of small business management experience. Sanjiv is co-owner of the Clay Oven restaurant, Vivo Liquor (in Alberta) and the President of Blis Media, a Computer software company.

Graduating from University in India,, IT, Sanjiv has over 20 years of experience in Information Technology Management. Sanjiv worked with Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries from 2008 – 2017. During his time at the commission he held a variety of roles and led many IT projects to increase the efficiency and improve the reliability of the computer systems.

Sanjiv and his wife Rajni have two children.

Director - Gord Menzie

Gord was elected to the Board in 2020.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Gord has a B.Sc. degree and M.B.A. from the University of Manitoba and held the professional accounting designation of FCPA, FCMA prior to his retirement. Contributing back to the community Gord was a Director of the CMA Manitoba Board, Director and Chair of the Board of Governors for St. John’s Ravenscourt School and Director and Chair of the Treasury Management Association of Canada (Manitoba Chapter) during his working career.

Having recently retired from eight years at Great West Lifeco (GWL) as the Senior Vice President & Treasurer, Gord has an extensive background in international finance, investment banking, capital markets, governance and executive management. He started his career at Cargill Limited as Assistant Treasurer and from there joined The Canadian Wheat Board, where he worked for 16 years, the last six of those as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer. Prior to joining GWL, Gord was the Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer of Credit Union Central of Manitoba, managed his own financial consulting firm, and taught finance courses as a sessional lecturer at the University of Manitoba’s Asper School of Business.

Gord has two adult children and his personal interests include playing the guitar, physical fitness, golfing and travel.

Director - Ravinder Singh Buttar

Ravinder was elected to the Board in 2020.

Ravinder Buttar is an accomplished real estate investor and developer, who has been a proud Winnipegger for over 24 years, originally making his way from India.

Establishing himself in the financing industry as a mortgage specialist and insurance adviser, Ravinder has worked with various organizations, including the Royal Bank of Canada.

As an emerging go-getter in India, he pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) and Export Management. Equipped with an entrepreneurial acumen, Ravinder would then pave his way in Winnipeg, starting and managing several businesses, including that of limousines, taxis, restaurants, banquet halls, and retail clothing. All of which constitute a profession career spanning nearly 30 years and counting.

Ravinder and his wife Ravinder Kaur not only share in having the same first name, but also in the love of three children—all of whom have been raised with the same trailblazing creativity and forward-thinking persistence as their ambitious father.
