Donation made to the Children's Hospital Foundation

CEO Brent Turman and Marketing Specialist Alexandria De Zorzi had the opportunity to stop by The Children's Hospital Foundation to present them with a donation for $2,500!

Back Story:

Recently Entegra made the decision to sell our golf cart. After the sale was completed, we learned a bit more about the purchaser, Kevin Skelly, and his family. He wanted to let us know that his son, 13-year-old Ty, was super excited about the golf cart and wanted to thank Entegra on behalf of the family.

So you might be wondering: how does this tie in to the Children’s Hospital? When Ty was two years old, he was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor. He underwent surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible and started his journey with chemotherapy at the Children’s Hospital soon after. Because he was so young, the chemo took a harsh toll on his body - he is still living with the effects of it today.

When Ty was in grade 2, he started to experience seizures, which increased in number and severity over the years. In 2018, Ty underwent another major surgery, a Hemispherectomy. Since then, Ty hasn't experienced any of the seizures he previously experienced, and his quality of life has drastically improved. He's able to be more independent and can do more on his own without supervision. If you know Ty, you know that he wants to be a normal kid, and do normal kid stuff.

When our Executive Team heard Ty's story, they wanted to do something more. After reaching out to the Skelly Family, we all decided that it would be great to donate all the proceeds from the sale of the golf cart to The Children’s Hospital Foundation - who have helped not only the Skelly family but many children and families across Manitoba. We also wanted to do something special for Ty! Ty is a huge Winnipeg Jets fan, so we built him a fantastic Jets gift package, including tickets to a game this season!

We are thrilled that the Entegra golf cart has gone to such a good home, and that we were able to contribute to this incredible organization.
