e-Transfer† Fraud

E-Transfer fraud attempts and intercepted e-Transfers can affect any of our members unsuspectingly. If you receive a notification for an Interac e-Transfer that you were not expecting, contact the sender through a different communication channel to verify. If the notification comes from someone you don’t know, or you suspect it may be fraudulent, do not respond or click any links.

A common scam circulating is an e-Transfer from The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Click to view example. The CRA does not use the Interac e-Transfer service. If you receive an e-Transfer from the CRA do not respond or click any links.
